About Marley Molkentin
I am a photographer, videographer, and creative producer, but at my core, I am a storyteller. Stories are how we make sense of our lives and the world around us. I’m not interested in telling someone else’s story- I’m here to empower YOU to tell yours. This is why a main function of my work is to build relationships and genuinely connect with my collaborators. I believe that by rooting the work in collaboration, communication, and trust, we can create more authentic and impactful stories together. I am committed to embedding myself in the passions of others, seeking to deeply understand who they are, and amplifying their voices to the rest of the world. Every individual, every community, every organization has a story worth sharing, worth understanding.
I started turning in videos instead of essays when I was in middle school, and soon was freelancing for local nonprofits and companies throughout high school. I pursued my passion for visual storytelling at Columbia College Chicago where I received my BA in Multimedia Photojournalism and my MA in Civic Media. My education gives me a strong base in journalistic writing and interviewing as well as photo, video, audio, marketing, and creative project producing.
